Tweet Week - Episode 1
This was my first whack at producing Tweet Week, and I have to say, I can't wait until I get better at it. Not to say that I am not happy with what I produced, but I know as I pump more of these out, they will get better and better. So bear with me, and try not to be too critical (if that is possible).
I cannot cover all the topics I find during my research so below is a complete link-list of Twitter related news items for the week of October 24th.
Twitter Grader by Hubspot- What's your Twitter grade? Twitvote - Vote twice. Once on Twitter, once at the polls. Magpie - Twitter advertising Let our Congress Tweet - Let the Congress talk to us on our social networks. 16 Great Twitter Moments - David Spark's post on Mashable Real Women Respond to Palin - LIVE webathon started by @liquidsunshine and @kathrynjones Synchronized Presidential Debating video - Most linked to video on Twitter Ninja cat comes closer while not moving - Twitter loves cats. Microsoft's Professional Developers Conference - Microsoft event Educause - Conference about technology and schools Web 2.0 Berlin - Conference and tradeshow Worth the Follow Award - Featured Twitterer of the week

Re Magpie: at least for the present I won't be adopting it, partially based upon my experiences with another (semi-related) Twitter event that occurred this past week. As you know, FriendFeed now allows you to echo any or all of your FriendFeed content to Twitter. When deciding how to implement this on my two Twitter accounts, I had to worry about overwhelming my Twitter streams with this more "canned" content. In the end, I'm only sending certain blog post links to Twitter, and not overwhelming my tweetstream with all my last.fm likes, Google Reader Shared Items, ad nauseum. To add advertisements on top of the FriendFeed content would probably completely overwhelm my tweetstreams. Magpie sounds like a wonderful idea (Twitter themselves should be doing it for their monetization strategy), and I may implement Magpie someday, but I'm not going to do it now.
Good show, by the way..

I'm trying out magpie for a month. Not so sure how I feel about it yet. I was given a rate of $1.10 per ad or about $75/mo., but I'm rather new to twitter just a few weeks on it. I'll let ya know.
Best,

Nice, like this feature.
Re: Magpie - checking with my Tweeple to see what they think. I would likely drop someone like a bad habit (I don't follow retailers that send out coupons for their own business b/c I follow to get to know people not to get an Amway pitch - which is what I feel like advertising to twitter followers is to me anyway).

Really enjoyed this - great to hear thoughts on the latest Twitter-related news. Are you planning to make a video podcast available? I think this was really nicely produced, by the way.

Twitter's so new and I'm so new to Twitter, I thought I'd continue to build a solid base and when I feel I have solid relationships over the next six months or so, I'd try funding my page with Magpie.
If one's first impression is commercial, it's hard to make a second impression of sincerity.

Wow, great first episode. Definitely worth the watch. I think in terms of video editing, you can obviously improve (I say obviously because you probably are aware of it already). I would suggest pop-ups from the bottom of the video screen with various tweets you receive. The cut to scrolling image stuff will get old quick. Also, you can do the pop-ups whenever you like while youre talking and they will be kind of like the CNN ticker, present but more for those who can focus on more than one thing at a time.
I really liked the stuff you talked about! Im gonna be checking out Magpie (they have yet to serve any ads over my account). Keep up the great work!
