iPhone 2.0 Software Update and Applications
I finally took the time to update my iPhone with the new 2.0 software. The new searching and storing features included in the update are fantastic and were much needed. I can now search my contacts in a search box, instead of having to scroll through my contacts alphabetically; delete multiple emails at once, instead of having to select, load and delete each email individually; and easily organize emails into folders. Other new features like the scientific calculator and language dictionary I could care less about, but I still wish it had the ability to cut, copy and paste. Oh well, maybe next time.
The new applications I've synced to my iPhone are AWESOME. I can't get enough of them and I can't stop searching for new ones on the iTunes store everyday. Here is a sample of what I've downloaded so far. I'll post a follow up with a review of the applications once I get time to really use them all. What do you think of the apps? Are there any that you think I should try that are not pictured here?

I like the FaceBook app better than using the web site itself.
Also Shazam and midomi are just the coolest things ever. Especially if you have friends that THINK they can sing.

Pandora is ridiculously fantastic.
I dig Quordy... kind of tiny warm-ups and mental exercising for my Scrabble addiction.
And Shazam is kickass, too... hold the iPhone up to any speaker playing music and it'll tell you what the song is. Then you can click to grab it from iTunes. So cool.
Is AIM working on your phone? It keeps crashing the new 3G model... lame.

Besides what you have there, I have NetNewsWire, Facebook, WritingPad (replacing "Notes"), and Twittelator all on my main home screen and SportsTap, Light, Movies.app, and Shazam, on the next page.

The company I work for (IfByPhone) recently released a little application. It's called "Voice Broadcast." Basically lets you send a voice message to a group of your contacts. Fairly simple app, let's you get out messages w/o using your plan minutes.
You can find it under Business in the iTunes store.

Julia,
I feel like all that should have been on the iphone in the first place. I used to have one, but I got rid of it. There are just to many things missing on it, that should have been on it from the get go. Even was missing the copy paste function as well. Ah well, some day I'll get one again, when Apple has it all figured out :-)
Cheers, Hans
