I purchased a few things from ebay early last year, but had not been to the site in over 6 months. Now that I have a concierge to receive packages, I made a pact to myself to buy more things online at a discount.
I put in a few bids on ebay for some random items last week. I've been getting reminders on those items from ebay when someone outbids me, along with several emails that look like what you see here saying: "Congratulations you have 5 feedback comments strong on ebay... Now is need to click 'Go To eBay' to accept a 5 feedback from ebay member." This seemed normal because I have been active on the site recently, so I clicked on the link and my browser warns me that it's a forgery.
I was surprised because I never received this message from my Firefox browser before. After asking trusty Twitter followers what they thought, I learned something I never knew before. If you click on an email link from a service like ebay, and it directs you to a aURL that looks something like http://205.130.229.44/ebay4583QS, it is not from ebay. This may be silly that I didn't know this, but I am glad I do now. Thank heavens for the Firefox security detector and my beloved Twitter peeps. Phew.
