I attended Bryan Person's last minute Tweetup at the Beantown Pub in Boston last week. The best part of the get together was, of course, the great conversations that were had with @chelpixi, @critt , @quiverandquill, @bryper, @misc and @christinagreene. The second best part... having my picture included in The Boston Globe's piece on how social tools can help your career.
Overall, I thought the article was good. It was definately written for your average joe, explaining things in non-avid social networker terms. But the message was clear, networks like Twitter, LinkedIn and blogging can really help your career and you don't have to be a a complete computer geek to reap the benefits of connecting with like minded people online.
Seeing my picture in print was definately weird. Holding and reading the actual newspaper was even weirder. I prefer the online edition, of everything.
